WCHS Intake

WCHS is a limited intake facility. Intake capacity depends on available shelter space and financial resources. We accept stray cats found in Wooster, Ohio and Orrville, Ohio and the surrounding Wayne County, Ohio area as capacity allows.

Capacity and Intake Status 2/1/2024:

*A completed intake form is REQUIRED to bring stray cat(s) to the shelter. Intakes are scheduled during regular business hours, 30 minutes or more before close.

At this time, we are ONLY accepting stray cats that meet the following requirements:

sick cats, injured cats, declawed cats, or orphaned kittens under eight weeks old.

If you have a stray that meets the above requirements, please fill out THIS FORM and staff will contact you to schedule an intake time.

If you have a stray or owner surrender that does not meet the above requirements, please fill out THIS FORM to be added to the intake waitlist.

Intake Form

Fill out this form if your stray meets the requirements listed above. Shelter staff will contact you to schedule an intake time. Intake forms are required. If you are unable to fill this out prior to coming to the shelter, you will be able to complete it on a provided laptop in our lobby. Intakes are scheduled during regular business hours, at least 30 minutes prior to close.

Waitlist Form

Fill out this form if your stray does NOT meet the requirements listed above or if you are interested in owner surrender.

If a spot becomes available, shelter staff will contact you via EMAIL and direct you to complete an intake form within 7 days. When the intake form is received, you will be contacted to schedule your intake. If your intake is not submitted within 7 days, we will move on to the next person on the waitlist and you will need to join again.
